State Award for Master Craftsman: Jammu and Kashmir

Objective

  • Directorate of Handicrafts, Jammu and Kashmir for the upliftment of artisan community has a scheme “State Award Scheme” aimed to encourage the talented craftspersons to excel in their workmanship skills.
  • To give them recognition for having contributed in the development of the craft of the J&K.

Under the scheme ten prominent craft categories are identified for which there is a scope to grant State Award annually.

Benefits

Each craft group carries three awards as first, second and third prize.

  • Ist Prize: Rs. 50,000
  • IInd Prize: Rs. 30,000
  • IIIrd Prize: Rs. 20,000.
