MP Govt to provide free education from Nursery to PhD to Scheduled Caste Students

Students belonging to Scheduled Castes in Madhya Pradesh will no longer have to pay their tuition fee till PhD. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday has come out with a new scheme that from next year onwards SC students will be given free education up till their PhD in government colleges including engineering and medical institutions.

  • Apart from the fee waive, the state government will also pay for 50 students from SC and ST communities those willing to study abroad. The main aim is to popularize higher education to combat illiteracy.
  • Chouhan said that the students from SC community must rather concentrate on their studies first and the government will take care of their fees from nursery to PhD.
  • Previously, the state government declared that SC/ST students those getting admission in Bed, BDS, Engineering, Nursing and Pharmacy will be entitled to financial assistance.
