Schemes implemented through State Channelizing Agencies (SACs) and Nationalized Banks
There are a few schemes for persons with disabilities which have been implemented through SACs and Nationalized Banks to financially support them. Small descriptions have been given below.
For setting up small business in Service/Trading sector:
Loan amount: Up to Rs. 3 lakh for sales/trading activity and Rs. 5 lakh for service sector.
Condition: The disabled person must operate the small business, project or activity for which the loan has been sought and also must employ at least 15% disabled people.
For purchase of vehicle for commercial activity:
Loan amount: A maximum Rs. 10 lakh
Eligible vehicles: All commercial vehicles including auto rickshaw will be eligible.
For setting up small industrial unit:
Loan amount: U to Rs. 25 lakh
Condition: The disabled person must operate the small industrial unit in manufacturing, fabrication and production business for which the loan has been sought and also must employ at least 15% disabled people.
For Agricultural activities:
Loan amount: Maximum Rs. 10 lakh
Loan is provided to disabled persons for agricultural production, irrigation, horticulture, sericulture, purchase of agriculture machinery/equipment for agricultural service, marketing of agricultural products.
For self-employment amongst persons with mental retardation, cerebral palsy and autism:
Loan amount: Up to Rs. 10 lakh
In this case, the financial assistance is provided through their parents or legal guardian or spouse of the dependent mentally disable person.
- Any Indian citizen having 40% or above disability
- Age criteria- A beneficiary must be between 18 and 45 years
- Must have a professional degree from a recognized university/institute
Rate of interest:

Rebate: A rebate of 1% on interest rate will be provided to women beneficiaries.
