Valmiki Ambedkar Malin Basti Awas Yojana (VAMBAY)

Valmiki Ambedkar Malin Basti Awas Yojana is a centrally sponsored scheme introduced by the government of India in every state. This scheme was devised to improve the livelihoods of slum dwellers living without any adequate shelter.

Aims:

  • Facilitating the construction of dwelling units for slum dwellers
  • Providing healthy environment

Contribution of the government:

  • The Central / State government will provide 50% grant/subsidy each of the total project cost to the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO)

Beneficiaries:

  • All slum dwellers / Economically weaker sections

Benefits:

  • Allotment of new houses or title of land-plots
  • Land will be provided by the state government either in- situ or partly in- situ and partly by relocation
