Top 5 Dairy Business Schemes: Haryana

When it comes to milk and milk related products, Haryana holds a very special place. It is known as “Milk Pail” of the country as it is a goldmine of farm livestock resources. The State has produced good number of dairy entrepreneurs because of its vast potential in the dairy sector.

If you are planning to set up your dairy business in Haryana then have a look at these lucrative Government schemes for dairy enthusiasts.

1) Scheme for Establishing Mini and Hi Tech Dairy Units

For generating substantial employment and for conserving, improving and promoting breeding activities in Haryana, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy has launched a scheme for establishment of Hi-Tech & Mini Dairy units in Haryana.

Benefits like Subsidy @ 25% will be provided for purchase of animals for establishment of dairy units of the 3, 5 and 10 milch animals under this scheme.

2) PashuDhan Bima Yojana

Pashudhan Bima Yojana is a new insurance scheme launched by the Government of Haryana. State government will provide insurance cover to cows, buffaloes, bulls, camel, sheep, goat and pig for a period for three years.

The scheme is free of cost for cattle breeders belonging to Scheduled Caste community and Rs. 100 for other communities.

3) Get upto Rs. 20,000 for your Cattles under “Gausamvardhan Scheme”

Animal Husbandry & Dairying Department, Haryana, to undertake the activities for improving the quality of indigenous breeds of cattles introduced this scheme.

This scheme will encourage the farmers to rear good quality cattles and increase their milk producing capacity. Cash Incentive is proposed to be given to the owners of the Hariana and Sahiwal cows only.

4) Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS)

DEDS has been launched by Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Department of Agriculture, GoI, in collaboration with NABARD.

25% of capital subsidy for various components mentioned in the scheme will be given as benefit to those seeking for financial assistance for Dairy Businesses.

5) Get Upto Rs. 30,000 for your Murrah buffalo

For genetic improvement of Murrah buffaloes, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Department has initiated the “Integrated Development of Murrahs” Scheme. This will increase the milk production capacity of the Murrah buffaloes.

Cash incentive is proposed to the owners of the Murrah buffaloes only.
