Telecom Secretary urges telecom service providers to improve network quality

  • With increasing incidences of complaints from customers on call drops and inflated bills, Telecom Secretary Rakesh Garg, yesterday urged telecom operators to address customer grievances and improve network quality.
  • He added that public is under impression that frequent call drops are deliberate attempts of operators to gain by charging for multiple calls by customers.
  • The telecom secretary also asked the telcos to improve transparency in billing. There have been frequent complaints of charging on disconnected services, according to the statement.
  • He urged the service providers to take all possible steps to improve the quality and also to deal with customers’ complaints promptly.
