Supply of Free Healthy and Nutritious Food by Gujarat Govt.

For the proper functioning of body there must be presence of all essential nutrients in required quantity, for this, Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Programme, Gujarat Government has come up with the objective of providing proper nutrition food free of cost.

Eligibility:

This scheme is for the children below 6 years, pregnant women, adolescent girls and lactating mothers who have registered with Anganwadi Centres (AWCs).

Benefits:

  • Take away home ration of ready to cook food.
  • Packets of Bal-Bhog, Sukhadi, Sheera and Upma.
  • Food Enriched with Iron, Protein, Vitamin A, Calcium, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin C and Folic Acid etc.
  • 70 different types of recipes can be made from these packets.

Registered Members can collect Food Packets from nearest AWCs. Currently the scheme is active in 17 districts of Gujarat. Expenses of scheme are shared 50:50 between State Government and Central Government.
