West Bengal: Shikshashree Scheme

A new scheme named Sikshashree has been launched by Backward Class Welfare Department, West Bengal Government for SC Day scholars studying in classes V to VIII. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to improve their partici­pation in Pre-matric stages and minimize the incidence of drop-out.

 Eligibility:

• Student should be domicile of West Bengal
• Student should belongs to SC category
• Annual family income of student should not be more than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs

Benefits:

Students will be provided grant through their bank accounts according to following criteria:

Class	Rate
V	Rs. 500/- p.a.
VI	Rs. 650/- p.a.
VII	Rs. 700/- p.a.
VIII	Rs. 800/- p.a.
