Persons with disabilities can now avail financial assistance for entrepreneurship development

Name of the scheme:

Scheme for Financial Assistance for Skill & Entrepreneurial Development

Purpose:

The objective of the scheme is to provide training to the disabled people to make them self-dependent by providing them proper training to help them pursue entrepreneurship and training.

Nodal agencies: State channelizing Agencies (SCAs), banks, training institute, and other financial institutions.

Eligibility:

The beneficiaries must be in the age group of 15 and 50 years and must fulfill other eligibility criteria for availing loan from National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC).

Quantum of assistance:

  • NHFDC provides 100% of the total recurring cost of the training programme.
  • Stipend- the recurring training cost also includes a weekly stipend of Rs. 500/- per trainee or Rs. 2,000/- per month to the trainee to cover transportation cost and other expenses.

Duration of training: Up to 12 weeks
