For providing financial assistance to SC students from backward class living in hostels run and managed by the respective school authorities, Backward Class Welfare Department under West Bengal Government has launched Hostel Grant Scheme. This scheme provides opportunity to SC students to grow up in an academic environment free from the hazards of undertaking long journeys for attending their schools.
Eligibility:
- Student should be domicile of West Bengal
- Student should belongs to SC category
- Annual family income of student should not be more than Rs. 36,000
Benefits:
Hostel Grant @ Rs. 750 per month will be provided to the student for 10 months. Total grant for the year will be equal to Rs. 7500.
How to Apply:
The student will have to communicate with the Hostel Advisory Committee through their respective Head of the Institution for admission into Hostel just after admission into new class.
