Scheme of Grant-in Aid to Voluntary and other Organizations Working for Scheduled Castes

The scheme of Grant-in-aid to Voluntary and other Organizations Working for Scheduled Castes was launched to increase government’s intervention to the organizations working for socially backward class of people. The aim of the scheme is to enhance working of the organizations in different areas such as education, health, vocational training, etc.

Eligibility:

It should be:

  • Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860
  • A public trust registered under the law for the time being in force
  • A charitable company licensed under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1958
  • Indian Red Cross Society or its branches
  • Any other public body or institution having a legal status of its own
  • The voluntary organization should have been registered for atleast 3 years
  • Number of Scheduled Caste beneficiaries is not less than 60% in case of voluntary organizations
  • Any other organizations or training institutions of repute, which may be approved by the Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
  • Organizations should have a maintained bank account and operated in its name for the past 3 years
  • It should not run for profit to any individual or a body of individuals

Benefits:

The Govt. of India may meet 90% of the approved expenditure. The remaining expenditure is to be met by the concerned organizations

How to Avail:

An interested organisation should send its application through the following-

Secretary of Social Welfare Department/SC, ST Welfare Department of the concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration
