Scheme for New Drug Discovery for Tuberculosis and Kala Azar

The Union Health Ministry has introduced new scheme  into the National Tuberculosis (TB) Programme.  The Project is launched to develop new drug for for Anti Tuberculosis Agents. The Government has announced to provide Financial Support to Concerned State. The same scheme is also introduced for Kala Azar.

Eligibility:

• All Participating States

Benefits:

Funding will be provided by Central Government for Tuberculosis and Kala Azar as follows-

• Phase I of the project has duration of 3 years and Phase II of 2 years.
• The total cost of the project is Rs. 4,88,00,000.The fund is to be released in four equal installments of Rs.1.22 crore for the project.
