10,000 startups program has been there for over two years now since it was launched in 2013. It is an initiative by the National Association of Software & Services Companies (NASSCOM) to provide adequate support including incubation facilities, funding and infrastructure facilities to 10,000 technology startups in India by the year 2023.
Objective:
- The main objective behind this initiative is to cultivate small startups in to complete technologically robust companies by the year 2023.
- The facilities include but are not limited to providing them with incubation centers, angel funding, venture capital, startup facilitation groups, technology cooperation etc.
- As the startup industry in India in recent years has seen a huge growth that this initiative aims to foster more entrepreneurs.
Startup warehouse:
NASSCOM has set up startup warehouses –one in Bangalore and another one in Kolkata to help startups in operating from there for almost a year.
Financial Benefits:
Through this program, a startup would be provided with a startup kit worth Rs.10 lakh consisting of a free business toll from Microsoft, AWS, IBM, Knowlarity, HackerRank and Google.
Shortlisted entrepreneurs would get funding from 25 lakh to Rs. 2 Crore from angel networks funding in India.
How to avail:
NASSCOM received above 7000 applications for its 10,000 startup program within two years of its launch. Out of which more than 125 startups have received angel funding, incubation facility and promotion. 4th Phase has been closed with over 500 applications.
