MyGov.in Platform launched Contest to Identify Women Achievers

The central government’s crowd sourcing web platform MyGov.in along with NITI Ayog and the United Nations has yesterday launched a contest to recognize women from different walks of life who have made a contribution for the betterment of the society at large and challenged the stereotypical generalization in different field.

  • The contest is based on the theme of ‘Women Transforming India’ and is inviting stories from women who made difference in social, economic, environment and cultural fields. The government is willing to create a more inclusive society by recognizing the contributions women make.
  • The contest will be on till 31st of March and the winner will be decided by a jury formed by NITI Ayog and they may also get to interact directly with the policy-makers. The government is giving priority to inclusivity and gender diversity and has taken quite a few measures to ensure girl child education like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. MyGov.in crowdsoources opinions on several issues for all the ministries and at present has 1.89 million members with having 173,000 submissions from across 402 topics.
