MSME National Awards Programme 2016: Ludhiana

Ministry of Small and Micro enterprises, GoI, hosted the MSME National Awards Programme yesterday in Ludhiana,Punjab. The Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the glorious event as the Chief Guest.

This function was held at Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), Ludhiana.

This program is organised every year by the government to honour selected industrialists who have excelled in terms of innovation, new technology etc.

The Prime Minister also launched two MSME schemes from Ludhiana, namely-

  • ‘SC/ST hub scheme’
  • ‘Zero defect zero effect (Z-effect) scheme’ for the country.

PM Modi also distributed 500 charkhas to spinner women belonging to five different Khadi Institutions.

For the SC/ST hub scheme, which has already been announced in Union Budget aims to promote the SC/ST MSME industrialists, Rs 490 crores have been earmarked.

The Z-effect scheme aims at providing more benefits to the industries that will seek Z-certification from MSME.
