Modi government plans to impart soft skills at ITIs

  • Modi government is planning to provide 500 hour of soft skills training as an add-on to the existing technical syllabus across industrial training institutes in order to make them ready for the modern workplace
  • This add-on training consists of inter-personal communication and functional English, dealing with emergencies in work domains, IT skills necessary to browse the iNet and social media, and operate office productivity tools.
  • Wadhwani Foundation is working with the skill development and entrepreneurship ministry to create high-value jobs
  • Ajay Kela, chairman of the Wadhwani Foundation, said that the foundation has developed 349 training lessons on such workplace skills that are imparted in interactive-video formats
