MHRD to offer 12,000 Free e-books for Higher Education on Mobile App

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has announced that it is going to provide 12,000 e-books for higher studies by the next month under its ambitious e-Pathshala initiative. The study material in the form of books will be made available free on a mobile application. According to HRD Minister Ms. Smrita Irani, the study material will be related to various subjects and topics for higher education. Previously, the ministry has made all NCERT textbooks from standard I to XII available in e-format.

Ms. Irani has also revealed that under the Ministry’s innovative ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’, all higher educational institutions in their locality would be adopting 10 villages instead of the earlier 5. This scheme is gateway for deprived children those cannot afford education to be educated by higher education institutions like IITs, IIMs. But the institutions have to ensure mentioning about the student’s participation in the Abhiyan in every academic record.
