Maharashtra plans to shell out $16 billion over 6 years to revamp infrastructure

News:

  • CM Devendra Fadnavis said he had accelerated the plans, which includes a new Mumbai airport, scheduled to see its first flight in 2019.
  • The project includes a road bridge, as well as a new city on a 600 square km plot around the airport which is the size of the current city of Mumbai, a new port outside the city.
