Maharashtra inks MoU with CISCO on smart cities project

News:

  • The Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global technology major, Cisco for making Nagpur a smart and safe city and the first Indian Institute of Information and Technology has been approved to Nagpur.
  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis says, “it was a proud moment to witness the signing of the deal with Cisco in San Fransisco for “Nagpur As Smart City” and signing of the MoU coincided with the beginning of Digital India Week”.
  • Fadnavis held discussions with senior officer in Google headquarters and Google has consented to sending a team to Maharashtra, where three pilot projects will be rolled out.
  • Fadnavis termed his discussion with Symantec was fruitful on advanced collaboration on establishment of security centre of excellence.
