Indian government which has been very much interested in using mobile technology to help its subjects, various policies such as Digital India Campaign has been designed to end the information deficit and implementation easy. On the line of that, recently the government has launched an application called – Kisnan Suvidha App.
This application has been designed to provide necessary information in the hands of farmers provided that they have Smartphone. The growth of smart phone users are increasing at 15% per year and currently, 87 million users belong to rural areas.

- Market price
- Plant protection
- Expert advisories
The usage is also simple, a farmer has to register his mobile number and choose state, district, block or sub district. The users can get information about the real time weather forecast, latest price of all corps, and a dedicated call centre for farmers where technical graduates help them for their queries. Currently, it is available in only two languages and soon other regional languages will be included.
This app has been developed by agricultural department and calls it “omnibus for quick and relevant information”.
