Integrated Programme for Older Persons: Bihar Government

The Integrated Programme for Older Persons Programme aims at improving the quality of life of senior citizens by providing basic amenities like shelter, food, medical care and recreational opportunities. The scheme has been made flexible in order to meet the diverse needs of older persons including strengthening of the family, awareness about new generation etc. IPOP provides assistance to the NGOs for building Old Age Homes, Day Care Units and Mobile Care Units. Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria for the NGOs/Self Help Group that will work under this scheme are:

  • Registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 or relevant State Registration Act.
  • A Public Trust registered under the law for the time being in force.
  • A Charitable company licensed under Section 525 of Companies Act, 1958.
  • Self-help Group of Older Persons registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 or as public Trust.

Benefits:

Under the scheme, financial assistance up to 90 percent of the project cost is provided to NGOs for establishing and maintaining old age homes, day care centres and mobile healthcare units.

The scheme will be implemented for the betterment of old age people.

The Application shall be given to the Concerned District Officer who will forward the application to the committee made by the Department of Social Welfare.
