Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS)

Integrated Child Protection Scheme, the scheme of assistances for children, was introduced for providing children with a protective and safe environment. The purpose of the scheme is to avoid difficult circumstances for children that lead to abuse, neglect, exploitation, abandonment etc.

Aims:

  • To institutionalize essential services
  • To enhance capacities at all level
  • To create database and knowledge base for child protection services
  • To strengthen child protection at family and community level
  • To raise public awareness

Beneficiaries:

  • Children of potentially vulnerable families, Children of socially excluded groups like migrant families, families living in extreme poverty, SC/ST/OBC, HIV affected children, Orphans, Child beggars, Trafficked / Sexually exploited children, Children of Prisoners, Street and working children

Benefits:

  • Preventive, care and rehabilitation services for children

How to Avail:

The scheme would identify and support vulnerable children through an outreach programs. District level trained functionaries with the Village and Block Level Child Protection Committees, ICDs functionaries, NGOs and local bodies would ensure convergence of the services
