Indian Army Plants 1 Lakh Saplings in 19 Minutes, Sets New Record

News:

  • On June 5th, World Environment Day, more than a lakh saplings were planted in 19 minutes around the Almora and Pithoragarh districts of the Kumaon region by 130 Ecological Task Force of Territorial Army and created a record.
  • About 15 different varieties of plants were selected for the plantation.
  • The battalion had already planted more than 1.6 crore plants over an area of 15000 Acres of forest land to protect through afforestation and set a new record.
