Number of measures were introduced by Urban Development and Urban Housing Department under Gujarat Govt. for employment, improved housing and civic amenities, betterment of health and nutrition, and development of backward regions and tribal areas. One of the components of this multifaceted scheme is UMEED, which involves market-driven, aptitude based skill up-gradation of marginalized sections, for gainful employment and self employment.
Objective:
Provide employment to urban poor people for the economic growth and betterment of their life, resulting in development of backward areas.
Eligibility:
- Any BPL young individual residing in the urban area.
- Age of individual should be between 18 to 35 years.
Benefits:
Trainings will be provided to the individuals through the vocational training centers having linkages with medium and small scale enterprise, which will help individuals to get employment in MSMEs.
