Gujarat: Home Ration And Supplementary Nutrition Scheme

In last one decade, Gujarat has undergone and witnessed tremendous growth and has undisputedly emerged as Nation’s Growth Engine and with so many new initiatives it has emerged as a guiding light for other states. In the field of health and nutrition also Gujarat has undertaken many new initiatives. Gujarat Govt. has started providing supplementary food as micro-nutrient fortified extruded blended food as Take Home Ration and supplementary nutrition.


All the children under 6 years, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers can avail the benefits under this scheme.


  • Under this scheme, all the registered beneficiaries will be provided energy dense extruded fortified blended “Ready to Cook” food BalBhog, Sukhadi, Sheera and Upma packets free of cost from their respective Anganwadi centers (AWCs).
  • 20 adolescent girls from every AWC will be provided free of cost supplementary nutrition.
