Government to ask airlines to set aside seats for last minute bookings

  • Much to the relief of last minute flyers, Minister of Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapati Raju is planning to propose setting aside two or three seats per flight for passengers booking last minute tickets due to emergencies.
  • Opening up these seats a few hours before departure can regulate the last minute fares effectively. Currently, the last minute flight fares shoot up to 5 times the normal fare.
