Goa: Assistance For Piggery Development

Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Goa Government has come up with new scheme for providing assistance to farmers for developing piggery units in the state.

Objectives:

  • To motivate farmers to undertake piggery production.
  • To upgrade local stock to make piggery farming profitable.
  • To make state self sufficient in pork production.

Eligibility:

Any farmer residing for minimum 15 years in the state.

Assistance:

The approved unit cost for the Piggery unit is Rs.1,97,500/- of which Rs.49,375/- shall be the subsidy component. The maximum subsidy admissible is 25% of the unit cost will be provided to the piggery developer.
