Fishermen Credit Card Scheme

Objectives:
The object of the scheme is providing working capital assistance through short term loan to assist the individuals who are in the activity of fish culture, fish seed production and fishing the reservoirs of the federation.
Area of coverage of the Scheme :
Throughout the state (Through Co-operative Banks).
Implementation Process :

Applications for credit cards should be sent to District Officer of Fisheries Department through block level/Tahasil level and Asst. Director level officials. The District level official will sanction limit basing on the merits of application and forward those sanctioned applications to District C0-Opderative Bank for issuance of cards. Subsidy will be provided by the department of fisheries and the same will be adjusted at branch level towards the dues of the card holder.

Eligibility Criteria :
Lease holding fisherman, members of self help groups, persons involved in fishing business and under poverty line . They should not be defaulters in Banks.

Amount of Loan :
Short Term Loans are provided at “0” % interest rate for working capital through Co Operative Banks for following schemes.
(A) Departmental Schemes :
1. For fish culture in rural ponds
Rs. 18,000/- per hectare
2. For Fish culture in irrigation reservoirs
Rs. 2000/- per Hectare
3. For spawn culturing in seasonal ponds for Fish production
Rs. 23,000/- per 0.25 Hectare
(B) Plans of Federation :
1. To purchase the Boat for fishing in Federation’s reservoirs
Rs. 10,000/- per person (Once in five years)
2. For 10 Kg. Fish Net
Rs. 5000/- per Hectare (Once in a year)
Rs. 5000/- per Person (Once in a year)
3.For spawn culturing in seasonal ponds for Fish production
Rs. 23,000/- per 0.25 Hectare
