Name of the scheme: Centrally sponsored scheme of Pre-Matric Scholarship for needy Scheduled Tribe students studying in classes IX & X
Purpose: The main purpose is to financially support parents of children belonging to Scheduled Tribe for education of their children in class IX and X to lesser school drop-out rate and to improve participation of ST children in classes IX and X of the pre-matric stage, so that they can perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.
Eligibility:
- The Student must belong to Scheduled Tribe
- Income criteria- Parents’/Guardian’s income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh per annum
- If the candidate is already receiving any other Centrally-funded Pre-Matric Scholarship, then he/she will not be eligible.
- Must be a regular, full time student studying in a Government School or in a School recognized by Govt. or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
