Braille Watches: to be distributed for visually impaired persons

Braille watches are to be distributed free of cost by the Government of Tamil Nadu to visually impaired persons. This initiative was undertaken to enable  visually impaired working persons to reach their work place on time.

Objectives:

  • To ensure punctuality of visually impaired persons to their work place

Eligibility:

  • Visually impaired working persons with an income below Rs. 24,000/- per annum
  • He / she should be self-employed or working in an unorganized sector

The following documents are to be submitted:

  • National Disability Identity Card
  • Income certificate from the Revenue Department

How to Avail:

  • The beneficiary may approach District Disabled Rehabilitation Officer
  • In case of delay of service, he may contact the District Collector or State Commissioner for the Differently Abled at the following address:                                                                                                                             Jawaharlal Nehru Inner Ring Road, K.K. Nagar, Chennai- 600078

Validity:                       

This scheme is valid upto 31st December, 2020
