Assam: Health Care for the Aged

The Government of Assam introduced the scheme of Health Care for the Aged to provide assistance to aged people. The scheme was introduced in order to assist financially to enable them to purchase medicines.

Beneficiary:

  • Aged people who is above 70 years of age (male) and 65 years of age (female)
  • The scheme shall be applicable only for those living Below the Poverty Line (BPL)

Benefits:

  • One time grant of Rs. 700/- is provided

How to Avail:

The beneficiary may approach the Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam
