ANIMAL HUSBANDRY SCHEMES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCHEDULE CASTS

Objective
Animal husbandry is more economically viable and feasible activity which generates sustainable income to the low income groups of the schedule casts.
Activities

Under this scheme government has identified five types of activities. They are

  • ANIMAL HUSBANDRY/GRADED MURRAY BUFFALOES
  • ANIMAL HUSBANDRY/CROSS BREAD COWS
  • ANIMAL HUSBANDRY/RAM LAMB UNIT
  • ANIMAL HUSBANDRY/SHEEP UNIT
  • ANIMAL HUSBANDRY/HEIFER REARING

Requirements
For activities I and II the beneficiary should have minimum land holding of one fourth acre with irrigation facilities, for two buffaloes/ cross bread cows, for growing green fodder.

For other activities no land holding is not required but animals reared and sold
for income generation in scheme No.V Calves of 3-4 months age are assisted as they are at the right age for exploiting their true genetic potential . Preference to be given to women in SGH groups.
Implementation

All the above said schemes to be implemented by the Executive Director of A P State Scheduled Casts Co-Operative Finance Corporation in co-ordination with Director,
Animal Husbandry and strictly following the guide lines of Dept. of Animal Husbandry.

The responsibility of identifying the true beneficiary lies with the executive director

The details of cost of unit and number of unit per scheme are furnished hereunder.

The cost of unit includes all components such as feed, medicines, insurance, cost of acquisition etc.. The beneficiaries should adhere to the schedule of vaccination in consultation with veterinary doctor.
