23 Bangladeshis arrested in Tripura: Immigrants

  • Police raided the house of one Kurban Ali at Melaghar and arrested 23 Bangladeshis for entering India without passport on Saturday.
  • On interrogation, it was known that they had entered Melaghar from neighbouring Comilla district of Bangladesh in search of jobs and they were likely to go to Kashmir to work as domestic helps.
  • Two Indians, including one from Jammu and Kashmir, were also arrested for helping them in their illegal entry, he said.
  • A local court remanded them to three days jail custody.
